The Town of Jones would like to inform residents that a county-wide burn ban is in effect beginning March 25, 2026, due to elevated fire danger conditions. The ban is currently set for 14 days (through April 8, 2026).
What You Need to Know:
Prohibited:• Open burning
• Trash burning
• Bonfires
• Fireworks
Penalties:Violating the burn ban is a misdemeanor offense, punishable by:
• Up to $500 fine
• Up to one year in jail
This ban is in place due to dry conditions and high temperatures, which significantly increase the risk of wildfires.
Our Jones Fire Department and Jones Emergency Management will be actively monitoring conditions and ensuring compliance throughout the community.
We strongly encourage all residents to remain weather-aware and stay updated, as conditions may change and the ban could be extended if necessary.
