Residents north of Britton Road on the west side of Hiwassee:
There has been a break in the main gas line, and customers in this area will be without natural gas service until repairs can be safely completed.
Our Public Works Authority (PWA) staff is going door to door to turn off and lock gas meters. This step is necessary to ensure safety and to help avoid potential overcharges once service is restored.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation while crews work to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possible.
We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
